California (postgraduationliver) cleaning

Hey all,

Just wanted to keep you posted and let you know that I leave for Cali in 6 hours...I haven't started packing yet, and seeing as how I need to be at the airport by 4am, I should probably think about that instead of perusing through the recently added photos on here. But hey, procrastination is a fine form of productivity. You're just productive with those 'other things' you meant to do. Right. Ok, I'll have many stories and photos to share with you all when I get back in two weeks. Don't have too much fun without me here! :)

Hey Stacey,

How did I miss that you were going to California? Have a great trip! Is this a good time to ask you what writing implements you are carrying with you? What's the notebook and pen that travels with you everywhere? What's the way to get that writing in with as much joy and ease as possible (save sweating for the gym). We're letting go of fear mostly--that's really the tough part of the work--not fighting it because that gives it more energy. So find that little routine around something that is already a routine--say, coffee. You get your first cup in a cool California cafe (where, incidentally no one will be bawling out the person behind the counter. God, I miss social skills. I miss people smiling at each other for no particular reason except that they recognize each other as human. I miss following distances when I drive and right of way. Okay, that's my Boston rant for the day.)
And you drink the first cup out of a real cup with cool looking foam shapes on the top which you describe in your notebook. At the end of the two weeks you have fourteen pieces that start with coffee foam and then move out into the world beyond the rim.

Hey, whatever works.

p.s. Stacey, do you have any interest in watering a garden a couple times a week? I have a community garden that will be sprouting raspberries/chard/herbs, etc. that you're welcome to, but I need someone to turn on the water a couple times a week (it's got an irrigation system). Let me know if you'll be around from end of June to 20th of July.
